General Update

New Website, New Year, New Music, New Me..!

Ok well, at least some of those things must be true, right? …Right.

I’m back from the depths of the holiday abyss to say hello, suggest that you peruse my new, streamlined site, and…

I’m happy to share that my music will be featured as part of Sound Riot’s upcoming “Galentine’s Day” concert in Nashville, TN, which features music by women, played by women, and supporting women. All proceeds from that night will go to support Mending Hearts Inc., an organization dedicated to helping women.

In the next few weeks I hope to share some recent projects I’ve been working on, but until then, enjoy a performance of Five Miniatures, which will be on the upcoming Sound Riot charity concert:

It’s been awhile!

Happy end of summer, internet! I’ve been in a sun-induced stupor for a few months, but have some exciting projects and events coming up this fall that I’ll post about in the coming weeks.

The most immediate news: the lovely and talented Elizabeth Zharoff will be performing a new video game arrangement of mine at a recital on September 1st in Leavenworth, WA (more info on my Events page). How Long Have I Been Playing? is an art song for soprano and piano, arranging the main theme from my beloved World of Warcraft in a concert music style. Sarcastic? Yes. Dramatic? Yes. The performance will be recorded, so I hope to share that with all of you at a later date. This piece is part of a larger collaborative song cycle, which I will talk more about when the time comes!

For now, enjoy the original theme, and imagine how I might turn this into a classical art song…

Gaude Mater, Max Richter, and a bit of Mozart

It’s been a crazy few weeks, with the conclusion of the Gaude Mater festival, as well as my mom’s (fantastic!) visit. A hearty congratulations to the other composers who premiered their Pie Jesu pieces along with mine – Michał Malec, Marcin Łukaszewski, Sebastian Szymański, and Marek Raczyński. Truly a diverse and beautiful collection of new pieces – I will post recordings soon! Information about the composers and the Pie Jesu project can be found here: Pie Jesu Project

At the beginning of the month, I took a trip down to Kraków to see Max Richter perform The Blue Notebooks and Recomposed: Vivaldi’s Four Seasons in their entirety. What an incredible concert! Check out a little summary video here:

P.S. My mom and I hopped over to Vienna for a few days, during which my only desire was to hang out near Mozart’s statue like a true stalker admirer (as you can see from the photo).
